Sharon Lee and Steve Miller are well known for their Liaden Universe series, but Sharon also writes on her own. Barnburner, is a mystery set in Maine, during that dusty, musty time when 'going online' meant dialing up a bulletin board service. Remember when? Set in the 1980s, the Jennifer Pierce mystery series features a prototypical small town in Maine going through the transition from a self-reliant semi-rural mill town to distant suburb of the information age. Barnburner introduces Jennifer Pierce, accidental resident of Wimsey, Maine, detailing in part her adjustment to the small-town ways of Maine after a life lived in Baltimore
