I wasn't sure I would like this book as the subject is scary, overwhelming, intense, so many more adjectives. But I honestly couldn't put it down. One of the best written books I have read in years. The author pulls you in with her emotions, pain, fears. And when you are done, you think to yourself that my pain is more bearable, more livable as it could never compare to what this lady has gone through. Excellent job telling her story.

Patricia tells an amazing story. It is riveting and heartbreaking. It is an amazing book about survival. Her descriptions are vivid. I was fascinated by their story and still cannot forget them. It is in fact a story about how long recovery can be even after you survive. It is about how two people's lives can change in an instant. I found it sad and was depressed to find that Patricia had committed suicide 22 years after the attack. Nevertheless I would recommeng it.
