Fascinating and suspenseful writing style. I became obsessed with cougars after reading this book...and very concerned. Very informative about man's role with predators.

Michel Sanders and Jim Halfpenny watch as their worst fears are played out in this fateful book. Mountain lions return to areas that their ancestors once roamed freely to find residential homesteads in place of what once was wilderness. As these large predators come in more frequent contact with humans they begin to adapt. While the town of Boulder, Colorado embraces its new neighbors, Sanders tries to warn both the citizens and experts, what will surely happen next. As pets start to go missing it is only time before human lives are threatened. This chilling book is a lesson to all of us, no matter how docile in appearance and reputation, wild animals are still wild.

Fantastic well-researched investigation that reads like a novel. Relevant to anyone in America who enjoys spending time outdoors or who lives at the interface of urban and "natural" areas (which are far from natural as explained by Baron). Highly recommended.
