The first three-quarters of this book was a delightful read. Particularly if one has a working background of the principles and peoples that inhabit the world of physics, the references in this tale will be satisfying.
The story revolves around an eccentric scientist father who want nothing more than for his son to be a mathematical and scientific genius. How that dream does not quite work out is the essence of this tale.

I found the book to be less satisfying and engaging in the latter half as the son grows out of his charming, awkward childhood into the angst-ridden darkness of young adulthood. The story itself becomes darker, the characters less engaging, and the conflicts less empathetic.

Nevertheless, this book proved an interesting and quirky read.

The book was different from what I usually read but I enjoyed it a lot.
