This is total erotica, but well-written erotica. ;) I really didn't like the first of this series much (Claiming of Sleeping Beauty). I read it only because of the hype and wasn't that impressed. If not for PBS, I probably wouldn't have tried the second book. But I liked this one so much more, the characters are more realized. There is a better insight to their feelings and reasonings. Not just a description of strange actions, which is how I remember the first book. I prefer Tristan to Beauty's character for some reason, but she has become a lot more interesting. This is a strange fictional world they are living in, and it's full of surprises. It's a good, quick read. Be warned: No one is kidding. There really is lots of sex and kink in this book, so if that's going to be an issue, this isn't the series for you.

After reading the first in this series, you definitely have to wonder about the mind and imagination of Anne Rice. This series is deliciously twisted and perverse from beginning to end, but a fun fantasy read for anyone with an open mind that wants to have their imagination toyed with.

I found this book to be truly evocative and well written, without being trashy. The only thing I could find fault with would be that there is no way Beauty could continually perform for her masters/mistresses; I mean after all she's a very young woman and as we all know young women have certain issues once a month. But after reading the first two books of the trilogy and in the middle of the third, I do not see this problem being addressed. I know many romance writers do not address this problem, but with this type of book, I do not see how the writer could not address what her masters/mistresses demanded of her during that time of the month. I still love the book, and would recomend the entire series to anyone who has a taste for such and erotic book. I also recomend reading the trilogy in the correct order, for all of Beauty's experiences to be fully experienced.

I read this series because I heard it was the "original" 50 Shades of Gray, and I like Ann Rice's vampire books. I must say this is nothing like 50 Shades of Gray. There is no love story to carry you through the books, and no real redemption. I don't understand what Rice was trying to convey with this version of a BDSM story but it isn't anything that I enjoyed. The only redeeming factor is that Beauty ends up with a happy ending.

I loved this book. It is quite an interesting read as well as incredibly erotic.
2nd in series. very explicit.
The second in the Sleeping Beauty Series, Rice takes us further into the psyche of young Beauty and her quest to discover her own sexuality and desires. From wanting to please the Prince to disobeying and being sent to the Village, we begin to understand the duality of the master/slave relationship and how at some point a slave must rebel to be fulfilled in his or her desires for subjugation. Beautifully well written with careful detail shown to the acts being carried out, without being lurid or vulgar. Rice does a phenomenal job of rewriting this classic fairy tale.
To address the issue of Beauty's menstrual cycle, I say this - suspension of disbelief. It is, after all, fantasy.

Too disturbing and graphic -- the second in Anne Rice's twisted trilogy -- genre fans will most likely love it, though!
This is not your standard erotic novel. It goes above and beyond what would be normal sexually. I enjoyed this sequel to it's first book, only because it told more of what the slaves were thinking, how they stood to endure their punishments and what kept them from trying to escape. These things were not addressed in the first book and it made the whole scenario a little too far-fetched. It still is, but makes more sense as fiction. What would make it more real to the imagination, as I saw another reviewer touched on, would be how the slaves are able to deal with their basic needs, such as needing the bathroom, and women having their time of the month. This may sound weird to request from a book, but for the Sleeping Beauty trilogy, I think it would be nice to know. They can't always be "plugged up".
it was an easy read. got to the point and sustained ur interest. paper and type didnot cause any eye problems. i must say that it was interesting to say the least. i, myself, am not into punishment. to my way of thinking, the price was too high for no reward.
The whole trilogy is fantastic! I read it the first time over 15 years ago and just reread the series again. Love it.

Part two of beautys trilogy, very explicit story of domination and submission set in the story of sleeping beauty, very interseting spin on the childs story!
This is a really good book I enjoyed it alot.
Hot stuff! Told from both male and female, some dominant but mostly submissive point of view.
Erotic and odd but good reading if you like this sort of thing. ;) Also, this is not a paperback but is a hardcover. However, that wasn't an option when listing this.

The second in the Sleeping Beauty Trilogy. This book is in great condition, HOWEVER it is an ex-library copy and therefore has some stickers on it and inside is stamped as discarded and has a library card pouch. It is not in gift book condition but is still in good condition. I am listing it because I personally wouldn't care about the stickers and stamps if it were sent to me this way (as long as I knew about it).
This is written by Anne Rice. I didn't read it. I had my fill in the first book. Joalice
