Beatrice Quimby's biggest problem was her little sister, Ramona. Beatrice (or Beezus, as everyone called her) was very patient with Ramona, but eventually she got so exasperated that she decided she did not like Ramona at all. Not one little bit. Tooting one note on her harmonica for hours, locking Henry Higgins' dog Ribsy in the bathroom, baking her rubber doll into Beezus' birthday cake-how could a four-year-old be such a pest? Beezus knew sisters were supposed to love each other all the time, like Mother and Aunt Beatrice. But with a sister like Ramona, it seemed impossible!

Beezus Quimby tried to be very patient with her younger sister, but 4-year old Ramona has the habit of doing the most unpredictable, annoying, embarrassing things in the world. How many nine-year olds habe to put up with a sister who hops around wearing rabbit ears and bakes a rubber doll into her sister's birthday cake. Some times Beezus doesn't much like her sister and that makes her feel guilty. Sister are suppose to like their sibling all the time. One of the classic Beverly Clearly book I read when I was in grade school.
