I enjoyed this work of historical fiction. Some of Leah's struggles remind me of my grandmother's. I like the way Dean Hughes weaves historical fact with the story of a reluctant, newly-called Relief Society president. The ending is a little pat, though. Mr. Hughes does like happy endings.
