Eric Bowman's 'Before I Wake' presents an interesting concept in the serial killer genre: What if the killer is able to get himself fully insinuated into the investigation under a 'Castle"-like ruse.
The writing is generally tight. Although there are some simplistic moments, especially in the second half of the book. Yet overall "Before I Wake" is a fun read with some wonderful breath-holder turns and knife-tip tingles.

An excellent book, written from the killers perspective. I've re-read it several times, and enjoyed it thoroughly every time!
The cop needed to solve a murder. The writer needed real-life material. Working together seemed like a good idea. Except for one thing . . . the writer is the killer.
