Very different than what I was expecting. This is the first book in a trilogy called The Guardian series, the next two titles according to the author will be Twice in a Lifetime and Old Friends. Sorta came off as a strange cross of metaphysical/new agey with some traditional "angel" thrown in. Overall sort of suggested spreading good karma and it will come back to you.

Do not bother to read this book it is beyond boring!
An alien presence senses its mate on earth and tries to meets her every need. Along the way is some confusion and other obsticals. The book has almost no passion in it. It is heavy on the theology and the characters while not very interesting do have a whole lot of deep conversations that center on god, creation, evolution.
If you don't mind reading a book that is an extremely heavy read but by the end of the book you really don't care what happens to the characters as long as there are no more conversations or pages; then you might read it.
This one didn't even qualify for my "if i have nothing else to read on the train" shelf.
Save your money/credit and get something else

With her latest, O'Day-Flannery (Colliding Forces) makes it look easy to incorporate angels, quantum physics and the evolution of humanity into a satisfying neofeminist paranormal romance. When Cristine Dobbins's boyfriend of seven years deserts her, her friends, a group of five women called the Yellow Brick Road Gang, send her to a male escort resort to recuperate. Unfortunately, Cristine throws her back out before she can get any satisfaction. Back at home, a mind-blowing orgasm brought on by a floating cloud of lights heals herand leaves her doubting her sanity. Enter Daniel Burns, a strong, handsome, impossibly fast contractor who redoes Cristine's kitchen and refuses payment. Turns out he's not a handyman at allhe isn't even human. As Cristine allows Daniel into her life, she learns to open her mind and heart to extraordinary possibilities. O'Day-Flannery gives Cristine a rich inner voice and a compelling struggle for happiness, but the lessons she learns often sound like New Age hokum: "When you believe... you deserve whatever you desire, you shall have it." However, the novel's unapologetic pro woman stance is not just uplifting but downright smart, and the plot is intriguing to the very end.

First book in the Yellow Brick Road Gang (otherwise known as Metaphysical Misadventures in the Search for Enlightenmant). This book is such fun! If you haven't read anything by Ms. O'Day-Flannery yet, you're missing out. She always comes up with out-of-the-ordinary plots and characters, along with the sexy romance. The hero in this book is part fantasy, part angel and all man. I give this one at least a 4.5.

sure, this is a well known author, but this book is so unbelievable !!! I loved the characters & just felt envious to be one of their gang. Don';t let it fool you, this is not a normal romance read. I think & believe it is more of a spiritual, enlightening, lesson full of wisdom book. It blew me away, and have to admit, I had to stop reading a few times, just to ponder over what I read. It might be too "out there" for some readers, but it sure is a great read with no overly sexual scenes to skip over. I like it so much, going to even go to the author's web site & Amazon to recommend it.

MOST OF O'DAY-FLANNERY'S BOOKS IN THE PAST HAVE BEEN TIME TRAVEL WITH A TWIST. SHE HAS NOW BROKEN INTO THE NEW AGE. THIS IS A VERY GOOD READ. WILL NOT SAY MUCH, FOR EVERYONE HAS A DIFFERENT FEEL FOR BOOKS.
