I found this to be a mix of some truly exceptional writing alongside some decent enough writing. However, the thing I appreciated the most were the varied voices of the authors. There are hilarious tales, somber and reflective stories, adventure stories, and a few romantic flings. I didn't read enough travel writing in 2007 to agree that this is the absolute best, but it will provide a delicious moment of escape, no matter the mood you are in. Authors include Barbara Kingsolver, Kari J. Bodnarchuk, Lucia Misa, Shari Caudron (and more) and they trek from USA to Ecuador to Italy to Israel and on.
