Could a filly win the Kentucky Derby? That's what Henry Daily hoped when he brought the Black Stallion's filly home to alec Ramsey. But Black Minx had a mind of her own. So Strongly did she resist training that Henry and Alec had to fool her into running! All the same, which faith in her will to race - and to win - they brought her to the Derby.

A fine book for horse-loving youngsters. The Black's daughter, Black Minx, seems to be a lazy, tough-to-manage filly who lacks the will to win. Nevertheless, she is fast enough to encourage Alec and Henry to train her with the aim of winning the Kentucky Derby.
