This is a great book for nature lovers and dog lovers.
This was my favourite book when I was a kid! It's a great story for kids to read and dream of adventures of their own.
I liked the young girl's story about the challenges of running the Iditarod. It helps that a map is included so you can follow her trail. It wasn't until she was trapped out on the ice, however, that I really felt connected to the story. I enjoyed Island of the Blue Dolphins, by the same author, much more.
Bright Dawn finds herself taking her Father place in the the Iditarod along with her dog Black Star. Great adventure story.
