This is an excellent book to add to your library if you are trying to make sense of what the heck happened to us under 8 years of the Bush II Administration.

Scahill sought to raise awareness of the serious implications of privitizing our wars, especially by forking over so many contrats to Blackwater, now known as Xe. Scahill gives biographical information on Blackwater founder Erik Prince, including ties to the religious right, and their causes. It gives insight into his thoughts about the war on terror.

A history is given of Blackwater itself, including how the organization was able to poach its mercenaries from the ranks of human rights abusing militaries, such as veterans of Augusto Pinochet's Chilean regime which kidnapped and tortured its own citizens.

Very important is now Scahill deals with the subject of how Blackwater has handled its controversies during the Iraq and Afghanistan wars; how it covered its own behind; and just how alarming it is that Blackwater mercenaries were deployed to the disaster scene of New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina.

A very, very important read. Add to your Wish List today!
