Erotic paranormal romance from Ellora's Cave. While this is book three in a series, I was able to follow along, and understand the story. Tiya is a part of a supernatural race that's kept themselves hidden from all others. She is out to avenge the murders of her family, by a group of rogue vampires. She attacks one of the rogues, and injures Charlie that night, who is also a vampire. Now Charlie wants to know who and what this woman is, and why she tried to murder his friend. This book is fair. The writing is passable, the plot is OK, with a twist or two, with bad guys you love to hate. The sex scenes are hot. Neither the best nor worst paranormal erotic romance out there. Quick read.

I didn't like this one as much as the first two. Though the sex scenes were hot, Tiya and Charlie never clicked for me. I wasn't engaged in the plot either. I really didn't care too much about what was going on.

The third in Anya Bast's Embraced series - this is another well written action oriented vampire paranormal. Not much Dominion action in this one but we are introduced to the OtherKin Sidhe via the heroine, Tiya. Tiya walked in on her family being ripped apart by vampires. She killed some but some got away and she is hunting them for revenge. In the process she comes across Charlie [a continuing character from books 1 and 2 who has had NO good luck with any of his love interests so far] and injures him for getting in the way. He tracks her down, learns her story, and decides to help her out by finding out the truth. The sex in this one is definitely pushing the envelope compared to the other two - it includes a couple of scenes with f/f contact plus a 'moresome' group scene.

Bast does her usual outstanding job of introducing multiple fascinating characters with their own plots and then weaving them into the main plot.

Order is important with this series and especially this book. Although if you read it as a standalone you'd be OK - but you wouldn't know a lot of important background about Charlie, Adam and Niccolo. It's worth it to read the whole series in order.
