AWAKE AND KILL...
Hubert liked to kill. Even as a little boy. He'd swat flies. Or smash lizards with rocks. The pleasure was always the same. And as an adult, he began to kill people. He always planned his murders with care, so no one would ever suspect him. He felt so safe, so powerful. Then the terrible headaches came. As if someone had entered his mind. It wasn't fair. And if Hubert found out who it was, he would put a stop to it...his way.

SLEEP AND DIE...
Ten-year-old Larry always had unusual dreams. Unusual because the people in them died in real life. Since moving to Willow Grove, Larry'd had the same dream. Over and over. Each night, he woke up screaming "Blood! Blood! Blood!" He couldn't imagine what the dream meant...until he walked into a book shop and saw Hubert Carton. That's when he understood.
