Great book. The body in the attic was the first of many horrors.
Have you ever met someone who set all your alarm bells off? The sociopathic mother/grandmother in this book is such a person and I have known several of them in my lifetime. You find their constant drama interesting and scary, but try to stand out of the way so you won't get sucked into the wreckage. It is hard to see the rest of the family destroyed by this monstrous and selfish person, yet we know that many families have these kind of problems. True enough, most people don't shoot their husbands, stuff them in the attic and try to kill the odor of decomposition with stick-up air fresheners. But many of them do approach the various little disasters they cause in the same unrealistic and stupid way. I felt thoroughly sorry for the victim, for the family psychological victims, and for all who had to deal with this woman. Well researched story I think.
Great true story of murder and betrayal in a family!
Very good reading
