An interesting police case that, once again, involves the mystery of the Romanov murders. Here, Sandilands meets and recruits a woman constable, Lily Wentworth, to help him. She has her own motives and standards, but seems to fit in with Sandilands.

Meanwhile, there is layer upon layer of duplicity as Sandilands and Wentworth try to determine if two cases have the same evil intent behind them or not.
