If you've wondered what happens after the fall of a government, read this book. If you wanted to know why people don't respect authority, have no respect for antique valuables, or just how far a vicious gang can go when unchecked, read Blood and Rubles. If you are a fan of inspector Emil Karpo, be prepared for a sever shock. The review says "Rostnikov and company have their hands full upholding the law-and holding on to something they can believe in-in a country wracked by political change and its powerful consequences." This could apply to this country today. It could be titled Blood and US Dollars. Kaminsky doesn't let up.
