These Bob books were key in my children learning to read. An adult may find the stories very short, however, new readers who are desperate to read a 'real book' really get a confidence boost when they are able to read 'a whole book'! I recommend these to all parents and all homeschooling parents. This set has 12 little books inside this box. The order goes: Level A set 1, then Level A set 2, then Level B set 1, then Level B set 2, etc.
These are phonics based readers so the story line is limited to the letter and sounds that were taught, so parents, be patient with the limited story scope. These books have an important purpose. If you want more serious and long stories those are for parents to read aloud to children not for children to read to themselves when they are in the very early stages of learning to read.

These books are what has gotten my daughter excited again about reading. She has pretty much taught herself to read...knows all sounds, most blends, etc, and has been reading step 1 beginning reader/step into reading etc books to me for a while. She was getting to a point where she didn't like to read to me anymore until she found these books on the shelf. She got so excited after the first two books because "these are easy!" and she has been reading everything in sight again. The confidence these books give is the big key. They seem too simple to someone who can already read, but they are a great asset to little people.
The stories aren't great, but it helps that the words are those that the child has already learned. It has enough of a "story line" to hold their attention. My son even laughs at how goofy some of them are.
