Oh boy, I want to meet Bobbie Faye. She is a fire cracker! I'm so glad for public libraries as I probably never would have found and read this book if it weren't for my library's New Release shelf. I would say that this is a comedic chick lit mystery... yep, I know, the lines are blurring more and more every day. :O)

Bobbie Faye wakes up one morning thinking that she will have the day to prepare for her home visit regarding her niece. Considering her explosive past (yes literally!), Bobbie should have known better. The fatalities include her trailer, her car, a bank, a truck, a boat... or maybe 2, or 3, or..., an oil rigger, a shack, a salt mine, a junk yard... and that is seriously just 1 day in Bobbie Faye's life. Since there is a very nice summary above in the book details I won't make you read any further summary by me. LOL

From the story line, I believe the author wants you to know that while this is an unbelievable day by our standards, it is a normal day in Bobbie Faye's life. That tells me that any sequel will be even funnier and loads of fun as well!

This book is very entertaining and I laughed through much of it. Her family and friends are a riot and the men in her life are just hot! If you find this at your library... GRAB IT! If it gets posted here... REQUEST IT! If you like to buy books... THEN BUY IT! I don't think you'll regret it.

This has to be the funniest book I have ever laid my hands on! I laughed till I cried for well over 30 minutes as I raced through the pages of the first 5 chapters. Bobbie Faye wakes up at 4am to a flooded out trailer, She finds out her brother is kidnapped and held for ransom over a worthless tiarra. The only shirt she can find to put on is a SHUCK ME, SUCK ME, EAT ME RAW babydoll tee. An electritian shows up to cut off her electrity, all while her trailer begins to collapse. Off to the bank she goes to get money for the electric company, where she accidentally robbs the bank. Then she kidnapps a man and the chase is on. The cops and the feds are after her and the action doesnt stop there. She soon finds herself at the bottom of the lake, being chased by a bear, captured by gunrunners, multiple explosions and so forth.

I can honestly say this is one of the BEST books i have ever read. Props to Toni McGee for this one. Im reading the sequel now and cant put it down. (hint she gets kidnapped 3 times within 15 minutes)

I highly reccomend her books! Happy reading

I didn't like this story because somethingS bad just keep layering and heaping onto Bobby until the credability of the story was just too unbelievable to care about what happened. If I'd had another book, I would have stopped reading this one, but I was traveling and stuck.

Funny, funny, FUNNY. Full of grins, giggles and laughs. I started laughing right at the beginning and the humor never let up. The story was a little far-fetched but really a fun book. When they say Bobbie Faye had a Very (very, very, very) Bad Day, they really, really, really mean it! Will look for more by this author and hopefully with the same cast of characters. 5 Stars!

Too Funny! This book covers one day in the life of Bobbie Faye Sumrall, in 336 pages! The woman didn't have time for a decent meal, or a shower. She's trying to convince social services she's fit to care for her neice, her trailer floods, and her brother who was supposed to fix it is kidnapped. And all of this is before breakfast! Bobbie Faye has to try to meet the kidnappers demands while trying to avoid being arrested by her ex. Bobbie Faye reminds me of a Southern Stephanie Plum, on steroids. She's a crack shot, and she never backs down. This book is definately worth a credit!

This book was hilarious. This is the story of one day in the life of Bobbie Faye Sumrall. She has woken up to a flooded trailer, discovered her brother has been kidnapped and held for ranson, accused of robbing a bank and is on the run... all in one day. There were so many times that I laughed out loud that my son asked me to go to another room. The only other author who makes me laugh this much is Shelly Laurenston. While the book was funny, it is NOT a romance and did not have the love story or heat of a Shelly Laurenston book. This book was rereleased as Charmed and Dangerous (Bobbie Faye).

This book was just crazy and hilarious. Yes, it's very over-the-top and unbelievable. But, if you read it and can envision a blockbuster Hollywood action flick, you will get a kick out of this book.

I think this would be a great story for fans of Stephanie Plum, Sookie Stackhouse and Betsy the Vampire Queen as it has a very similar heroine. Although, I do have to say that Bobbie Faye is probably a bit more feared and destructive as well as more capable of not being a "girly girl".

Overall, it's a hilarious read and I'll definitely be reading more by this author!

This book is an action-packed romp, half of what happens in the book would make a great action comedy movie. Bobbie Faye is Stephanie Plum on speed. The first half of the book flew by. The second half I was getting a little tired. What is missing in the story is something to make you really like Bobbie Faye. Instead of rooting for her to find a way out of her problems, it's like watching a train wreck, hoping you never meet anyone like her. The most normal and sympathetic character is Cam and at the end of the book, you totally understand his point of view. Still, it keeps your attention and, in a while after I've rested, I'll visit the second installment in the Bobbie Faye saga.

I enjoyed this book soo much! It was fast paced, funny, with a very interesting and distinctive heroine and a thorougly adventourous plot. I loved that when Bobbie Faye said she could do something, she really could (sometimes better than everybody) but at the same time she wasn't stupid - crazy, yes but she knew what she could handle and what she couldn't and always thinking with her head.

The first thing I noticed about this series is that there is action. So much so, that one almost forgets what the whole premise is for the story. Bobbie Faye Sumrall is the most unusual person I've ever read about. If something is going to happen, it will happen to her. And everyone will know about it. Thing is, it makes for a pretty good read. I can see this series being made into a TV show in the future. Bobbie Faye and all of her crazy and not-so-crazy friends and relatives, including several ex-boyfriends and one ex-boyfriend with whom she has a love/hate relationship. Some of the things seem a bit outlandish but I still recommend this to readers who enjoy books like the Janet Evanovich Plum series. There's a little romance, a little fun, a little suspense and a LOT of action.

The book was set in the Louisiana Bayou, and the setting played a big part in the book. Bobbie Faye, who only wants to go to the Contraband Day Festival, gets into trouble when her brother gets kidnapped and she is robbed while trying to get the ransom (a tiara). She meets a handsome not-what-he-seems man who has an agenda of his own. What follows is an adventure into trying to resolve the situation.

Bobbie Faye is something of a famous Louisiana train wreck, so there are lots of references to misadventures she has had before. The book is cute, and the focus of the plot is a fast-moving attempt to save her brother and get her life back in order.

One thing about this book does make my blood boil. It has been rereleased as a book called Charmed and Dangerous, which is a mass market paperback rather than a trade paperback (as this book is). If you did not know that, the only place to figure it out is on the copyright page. It just seems obnoxious to me to do that on a book that has only been out for a few years. So, if you really love this book, don't get confused.

There is a sequel out if you like this one.

Great first book. This is a series (there are two more 'Bobby Faye' books about a down home Louisiana girl that gets into trouble naturally & has the bad day to end all bad days. It is a riveting read that I couldn't put down because I had to see how it worked out for her. It's also pretty funny and has lots of Louisiana characters. The series has been renamed (this is the original) so search under the author's name, too.

Note: This is the original publication of Charmed and Dangerous. (The first 2 books in the serious were re-released as MMPBs and given new names and covers.)

Could this day get any worse? If you are Bobbie Faye Sumrall, the answer is yes. Bobbie Faye's day is outrageously bad. From page 1, she is dealing with one disaster after another. Her trailer falls apart (literally), her brother get kidnapped, she's somehow involved in bank robbery...and that is all before 9:30am!

This is a quick-witted, fast-paced read. Lots going on here...Bobbie Faye has to figure out along the way why the kidnappers are interested in her scrap metal tiara. She's also trying to figure out who she can trust to help her get her brother back. There are a few interesting turns along the way, but nothing that is a shocking surprise.

I'd classify this as a romance, but it really isn't too much of one. Bobbie Faye has an ex, Cam, who she still loves and he loves her, but they just don't get along. Then, along comes sexy stranger, Trevor. She isn't sure she can trust him, but he sets her hormones in action. This is obviously only the beginning of this love triangle. Even though Bobbie Faye seems to get herself into some really bad spots, this one doesn't sound too bad to me...2 hot guys who both want her? That can't be that bad.

Reads like a movie...makes me think of Die Hard (including all of the potty-mouth language!)...he, he.

For whatever reason I just could not get into this book. Dragged painfully on. Same premise as the Stephanie Plum books (which I enjoy). Everyday girl in crazy situations, 2 hunky men in story, crazy family and friends. This combo in this story did not work for me. I pushed on and finished it but, was not impressed.

I LOVE THIS BOOK! Bobbie Faye Sumrall is a walking disaster area. Anything that could go wrong always does.
Its a fast moving and very funny book. Bobbie Faye is mouthy, reckless and loyal to her no good family. She has inherited the title of Contraband Queen from her mother and is expected to be in the parade wearing her tiara, but the people who have kidnapped her brother want that tiara as ransom for him. Its a chase through the swamps running from bad guys, chased by the cops, and other people who also want that tiara. Very good quick read. Loved it!
