I went to the library yesterday and came away with five WL books in excellent condition for five bucks. Yay me! On closer inspection I noticed that one of the books (trade papberback) has a small tear in the cover. It is almost dead center at the top of the cover and it is about half an inch in length. It trails slightly diagonally from left to right. From the posting guidelines here at PBS, I know that small tears (smaller than one inch) are permissable. The problem is, this tear has been "repaired" with clear tape. There is one small piece on the front and one reinforcing it at the back. I seriously didn't even see the tear until I got home. The book is otherwise in excellent condition. If I received this book as a trade, I wouldn't bat an eye. What do you say? Is this postable? (I'm mostly concerned about the "repair".) |

I would have no problem getting that book, but I'm not sure about the rules. You might PM the wishing person and ask them if they would accept it. Edit for clarity Last Edited on: 4/11/09 12:58 PM ET - Total times edited: 1 |

In my opinion it is postable. The tape is to prevent the tear from getting bigger. So as long as the tear is less than 1" and they didn't completely cover the cover in tape then you are good. |

Yes, its postable. If the book with the tear is postable, then the book with the tear taped up is also postable. Tape on books does not immediately make them unpostable. I derive this from the fact that ex-library books are postable, and I've never seen an ex-library paperback without lots of tape. Last Edited on: 4/11/09 1:03 PM ET - Total times edited: 1 |

I am joining with the majority in thinking it is postable. |
