Yes, why did you tell us this?  I just ordered another book from Amazon, Wolf Hall because I needed another item to get free shipping. You know the deal?  Spend another $11, and save $4 on shipping.  Why do we fall for it?

I need more books like a hole in the head, but I'll ask.  So, what's everyone ordering? ;(

Erika & Karla, you have to tell us what you ordered (I think that's in the by-laws).  So far I have The Flight and Cathedral by the Sea in my cart, but I'm not finished.

Shelley, they have tons of Bernard Cornwell.

Oh. Crap. I have to resist. My TBR pile here is getting unmanageable... And DH would throw a fit. LOL Not because of the money, but because he hates that I have so many books...

OMG, We all have the same husband!!  How does that man get around?

I've been on Bookcloseouts since yesterday, pondering my cart. It's crazy-making. I hope you all know that if you go to e-bates first and then to the bookcloseouts site, you will get 6% back. I've ordered everything from books to shoes through e-bates and then when the amount is a certain total (I THINK it's about $12.00) they send you a check.:P

They had a ton of books that I already have, which I was kicking myself a little bit for, but here's the list.  They didn't have anything from my WL so these are just ones I thought sounded interesting.

The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford - Ron Hansen
The Borgia Bride - Jeanne Kalogridis
The Children's War - J.N. Stroyar
Crofton's Fire - Keith Coplin
Eight Million Gods And Demons - Hiroko Sherwin
The Gates of the Alamo - Stephen Harrigan
Mr. Emerson's Wife - Amy Belding Brown
The Rose Without a Thorn - Jean Plaidy

I kept it to under $2 per book because I'm a cheap %$^#& that way.

I did weaken and spend $4 on 1906 by James Dalessandro, about corrupt SF & the earthquake

Got 2 trashy romances for 99 cents each, and some blah contemp chick lit for a co-worker because she begged. I won't bore you with the titles, because I'm boring myself thinking about them.

Life Mask - Emma Donoghue
Act of Love - Iris Gower (takes place in the theatre world of Swansea c. 1900)

An Assembly Such As This - Pamela Aidan (I hate P&P, but I'm curious if I'll like the published fanfiction for it :-P)

Keeper of the Crystal Spring  - Naomi & Deborah Baltuck

The Memory Palace - Christie Dickason

Your husband must be living at my house as well, he thinks I'm nuts!  I'm going to stay away, though....I'm not sure I'll be able to get through my TBR pile in my lifetime!

I bought ...

The Master of Verona
The Whale Road
The White Mare

I was too tired to try to find enough for $35 order. Believe it or not.

So, I just had to go look. *sigh* I have 6 books in my cart that I'd love to buy. Now for a way to convince DH...

I have no committee to run potential purchases through. Probably not a good thing, since I'm pretty impulsive when it comes to books. :P

I caved like the house of cards that I am.  Woe is me when DH checks out our debit card expenditures.  ;( LOL!  I'll get a good eyeball rolling!  Here's what I ended up with, and yes, I kept going until I hit $35 for the free shipping.

The Sunne In Splendor, Sharon Kay Penman (Really?  Who can resist an SKP for such a good price???)

The Rose Without a Thorn, Jean Plaidy

Tiger Claws, John Speed

The Temple Dancer, John Speed (These two by Speed have been on my WL forever)

Anthony & Cleopatra, Colleen McCullough

The Concubine, Norah Lofts

The Queenmaker, India Edghill

The Secret Supper, Javier Sierra

Catherine The Great: Love, Sex & Power, Virginia Rounding

and . . . yes, I had to go there . . .

The Winter King, Excalibur, and Enemy of God, Bernard Cornwell.  I figured it was fate that this trilogy was all available. I just read on BC's site today  that he said that of all the books he's written, "The Arthur Books" are still his favorites.  He practically begged me to buy them, for Pete's sake!  ;)

I'm happy. I got 12 books for $35, which equals roughly $2.92/book.  Who can afford NOT to buy at that price?

Oh Shelley, you described that so well. My DH will say "this is why you're not getting a Kindle for Christmas - you keep getting more books!"

I really had to restrain myself:

The Queen's Bastard by Robin Maxwell

Here Be Dragons by SKP

Against a Crimson Sky by James Conroyd Martin (Author of Push Not the River, which I have on my WL)

I folded too, of course, and found quite a few that I just had to have. And, since Donna is correct and tellin' what you got is our only law, here's my list:

The Dragon's Tale - Adam Williams

The Jewel Trader of Pegu - Jeffrey Hantover

The Seance - John Harwood

The Accomplice -  Kathryn Heyman

The Lightstep -  John Dickinson

The Indian Clerk - David Leavitt

The Gates of the Alamo - Stephen Harrigan

Sweetsmoke - David Fuller

Symphony - Jude Morgan

Sacred Ground - Barbara Wood

The Blessing Stone - Barbara Wood

Daughter of the Sun -  Barbara Wood -

Woman of A Thousand Secrets - Barbara Wood - I've never read any of her books, but I now have three of them; hope they are good!

Kushiel's Scion -  Jacqueline Carey

Kushiel's Justice -  Jacqueline Carey

Kushiel's Mercy - Jacqueline Carey

In Triumph's Wake: Royal Mothers, Tragic Daughters, and the Price They Paid for Glory  - Julia P. Gelardi

Normally, I wouldn't buy books that are posted here, but at $2.49, they were as cheap as the cost of earning a credit. I wish BCO would occasionally include non-fiction in their sales! They have tons of N/F that I'd love to get.

Okay by some miracle I manage to resist  this awesome BCO sale and what happens?  I got $100 to spend for my anniversary and of course I scooted on over to B&N and got:

The Lacuna by Barbara Kingsolver

The Year of the Flood by Margaret Atwood

The Sisters who would be Queen by Leanda de Lisle

War of the Roses by Alison Weir

Her Fearful Symmetry by Audrey Niffenegger

A Separate Country by Robert Hicks

2 of those I got at 60% off!  Yay for new books!!!

Holly, let me know what you think about Her Fearful Symmetry. Nobody I know has read and I've been dying to talk to someone about it.
