This was a selection for my book club. It was quite well received by most of the members but I just couldn't get into it.

This critically-acclaimed book is one of the best biographies I've ever read. It presents Daniel Boone as he really was, based on historical sources, family recollections, and the author's original research, and not just the iconic frontiersman of legend and Walt Disney. I highly recommend it.

A little slow to get into at first but overall a good read. Biography delves into the real Daniel Boone using family accounts, history, personal writings and first hand accounts of his life. If you're looking for a Disney version of his life you will be disappointed but if you're looking for a thorough insight into the life of this great man you could not read a better book.
