Boston Beef Stew

Ingredients
  • 5 lbs - Stew Meat
  • 3 cans - Cream of Mushroom Soup
  • 1 packet - Lipton Beefy Onion Soup
  • 3 Tbs - A-1 Sauce
  • 3 lb - Carrots, peeled and cut in half
  • 5 - Medium sized onions, peeled and cut in half
Directions

Preheat oven to 350.

Mix stew meat (no need to brown it first), soups and A-1 sauce in a large roasting pan.  Cover and cook for 2 hours.

After 2 hours, add carrots and onions (I also add turnip).  Cover cook for additional 2 hours.

Yup, that's it ... it makes a creamy, beefy gravy all on its own, and I serve it over mashed potatoes.  All you really need is the 4 hours to let it cook, and I put the time to good use by curling up with a good book or watching a couple of movies.

YUMMY!!

 


Notes

This makes a lot of stew, but it freezes well, especially since there aren't any potatoes in it.
