This book reads well as one individual's experience of having been born female to all outward appearances, but definitely male otherwise. As a psychiatrist, I found this book helped me to understand the personal, family, relationship and societal issues that transgendered individuals must face, if they want others to acknowledge them as they experience themselves.
Additionally, I was surprised to learn how different the surgical options were in the US, Europe, and Canada.
