Wonderful children's book!!! After a young Dutch girl writes to her new American friend in thanks for the care package sent after World War II, she begins to receive increasingly larger boxes.

What a heart-warming story (based on the author's mother's experiences after WWII). Children learn compassion, learn that other's are not so fortunate as we are, learn that they can make a difference in someone else's life.

Homeschooling moms might be interested in the *FREE* literature-based unit study that goes along with this book at: http://www.homeschoolshare.com/boxes_for_katje.htm

I love this book! It's so inspiring and shows how one person, one family, one town can make a difference in the world. Nice little surprise at the end, too. Based on a true story.
