Another solid effort from Laura Lee Guhrke. It's more plot-driven than what I've come to expect from her- making it not as emotionally compelling as some of her other books- but it's light-hearted fun. I especially liked the small-town Americana setting.

The focus of the book seems to be on the Shivaree Social Club and the political battle to shut it down, not on Daniel and Lily's relationship. Guhrke's characterization of the 1900's south (its habits, politics, and people) is very interesting, but sometimes this feels more like a history book than a romance novel.
