Historical romance and a touch of danger and mystery!

I was new to Melissa Jagears' books when I started A Bride In Store, I had heard a lot of good things about them and I found that it lived up to it in every way.

I fell in love with with all things historical as a small child and over the years I have become a bit of a stickler, holding historical fiction to a high standard. A Bride In Store lived up to that standard, it wasn't just a sweet little historical but had some very fascinating history in it as well. I had no idea that Five and Dime stores had been around so long and that many of our modern marketing practices date back to the Woolworth 5¢ stores.

I enjoyed the history but I also became friends with the characters as I spent the hours reading their story. Their highs and lows became my own for awhile and I became quite involved, applauding them and shaking my head by turns.
There is even a dash of danger and intrigue. You'll have to read the book to find out what a train robbery, stolen property, a lonely woman, and a table of broken dishes all have in common.

Melissa Jagears has written engaging characters and interesting situations that pull you right into the story. A Bride In Store is a must read for historical and mail-order-bride fiction fans!

(I received a copy of this book from the publisher in exchange for my review. All opinions are my own.)

A good mail order bride story by Melissa Jaguars. Interesting characters which were well developed and in some cases surprising. Of course, the mail order bride might not end up with her intended groom... Highly recommended!

A Bride in Store by Melissa Jagears
Unexpected Bride Series Book Two
Eliza Cantrell is going to be a mail-order bride. More important is the fact that she will be able to help run her fiances store. Something her brother didnt want her help with now that her father passed away and left everything to him. Just because she had a lack in judgment who she let court her. Seems her trip to Kansas may not be everything she hoped for either.

William Stanton is stuck her in Salt Flatts. How many years has he planned to go to medical school? How many years will he be stuck here? And his friend and partner in the store is absent more these days than present. William knows God is calling him to medicine, he just has to find his way. Which just got a bit harder because of woman.

There is a free prequel, Love by the Letter and then book one is Bride for Keeps that tell about some previous mail-order brides that came to this mostly male town. The books are stand alone but if you enjoy a good series youll want to read them all. And I have a feeling from the lonely males still hanging around that this series has a few more exciting books to come.
