This "tasty" little book is filled with poignant short stories about Russian emigrates and their experiences with love, lust and food. A few of the stories are funny and some are sad, but all show us a very unique view of "transplanted" lives and how some foods can be a source of comfort and other food a reminder of traumatic events.
I found the characters well developed, but some of the stories a little lacking. I guess I just wanted more.
A few good recipes in the back of the book. The Cold Borscht is very easy to make and very delicious!
