They are great!!  Very much like Evanovich's Stephanie Plum series.  Very funny, complete with the sexy "is he or isn't he?boyfriend", funny sidekicks (her mom and the mom's best friend are hilairous) and the recurring thorn-in-her side ex-husband and his current wife.  I heartily recommend this series!

As to whether it's chick-lit, I just don't know.  Kinda a chick-lit mystery series?  You might get more responses about this series from the mystery section.

Thanks for letting me know. I thought they looked good but I have never read any of her books. Now I'll have to keep an eye out for them. LOL, like I need more to read!

I love these books as well, some of the parts you actually laugh out loud.  I also like Bubbles as much as Stephanie Plum, if you havent read these you definetly should!

They're great - I was instantly addicted.

They're on my keeper shelf.

I think I'm in the minority, but I really didn't like them.  I read the first two to give them a try since I had heard so many great things about them, but they were just goofy to me and had too many cooincidences.  I just don't like books like that.  I do pick them up when I see them at yard sales though, because I know they're pretty popular here.

I have to agree with Danielle...they aren't my favorite.  I read the first, wasn't impressed, so tried the second, and am still not impressed.  I will keep getting them for my mom, but I won't read them anymore.  I feel like I have to really make an effort to read them, and I have way too many books to be reading books that I'm not into.

That being said, they are VERY similar to the Stephanie Plum series.  I don't know why I like the Plum series and not the Bubbles...odd!

I just found the Bubbles series, and as someone not very well versed in Chick Lit, thought the Bubbles book was very silly. Silly enough to laugh out loud, though. Stephanie Plum-silly. Several of Bubbles' relatives reminded me distinctly of Stephanie Plum's quirky grandmother. Since Bubbles books only take about ten minutes to read, you may as well try one and see how you like it.

Maggie, you took the words right outta my mouth. Someone had suggested them to me telling me they were just like Stephanie Plum, and I had the credits at the time so I ordered all of them, I read the first 2, and stopped halfway through the 3rd one :/ I just couldn't force myself to read anymore.j

Though I do think this charecter and author have some great potential.

Yep!  They're purely escapist - which is exactly what I read them for.  If I'm in the mod for something else, I read something else.
