This book is an interesting fictional recreation of the life of Buddha from conception through enlightenment. It also contains a basic description of Buddhism and some common questions/misconceptions. It is not a religious text on Buddhism. It is a compelling personal journey of a young prince in 563 BCE.

Personally, I found the book compelling and fascinating.

I had a rough time getting into this book. I thought it poorly organized and hard to follow.
