She flees her village and takes refuge in a Franciscan sisterhood. Before long, Sybille's unusual powers bring her under the scrutiny of the Inquisition. this book may be my favorite of those times.this is not the easiest of reads with many characters with similar names.but if you like historical novels set in this era,if you like to read about the treatment of women in this era and last but not least the reading about tthe inquisition, this is a book for you. mixed in with it all is many pagan references, some obvious and others not so. but a very good read, IMHO.
