This is a beautiful gift and educational book with exceptional artwork of the Southern Arizona; Sonoran desert and the beautiful animals and huge Saguaro cactus that live there and sustains the animals The desert receives very little rainfall but yet the animals live and thrive there. The saguaro produces flower that bats pollinate and drink deeply of the nectar. Inside the cactus live a pair of Gila Woodpeckers and their next. Tucked into nest woven into the huge arms of the saguaro cactus lives a Great Horned Owl and her nest of eggs. Close by a kangaroo rat hops out to eat some paloverde seeds and a kit fox lunges for the kangaroo rat. An Owl eyes the kangaroo rat too, but end up eating a gopher snake. Coyote's howl and the javelinas come out searching for food. What else happens? Much, much more. This book is excellent for any age and worth reading for the detail and How much do you know about the Sonoran desert?? THe artwork alone is a learning resource for this book.I would rate this book 10+.
