Charming chick lit. Flora left her tiny island home of Mure for the big city of London to make something of herself. She's a paralegal in a big law firm and has a huge crush on the boss, a man who doesn't even know her name. When one of their biggest clients decides to set up a residence and a business on Mure, her boss decides to send her to convince the locals that it's a good idea. Flora knows that the people of Mure don't like outsiders and aren't too fond of her either since she left, but she can't say no, so back home she goes. Things aren't so great since she left, and her brothers aren't happy with how long she's been gone. The family farm is in trouble and Flora has a hard time convincing them and the people of Mure that she's not the enemy. Then her boss shows up and she has to spend a lot of one on one time with him. It's a great story about home, family, and making your own path in life.

When I need to take a break from heavy historical novels, Jenny Colgan is my go to! Another sweet story on the fictional isle of Mure off of Scotland. This time our heroine, Flora, is sent back to her home island by her job to help a law case regarding a client wanting to build a resort there. We meet her father and her brothers, all still living at the farmhouse and working the farm since her mom died and Flora left them. Her love life runs from her handsome boss in her dreams,to a man who works on the island helping children with home life problems. I am hoping there may be another book that delves into that a bit more. It seemed an interesting story plot.

Flora left the island of Mure after her mother's death to work in London. When her job leads her back to her childhood home, long buried emotions are unearthed and she finds a new appreciation for her family and home along with a couple romantic possibilities. Love Jenny Colgan's stories.
