A good starting point in the study of calculus, April 8, 2003
Reviewer: Edward H. Welbon "epiphenomenalist" (Austin, Tx United States)
I didn't first study calculus from this book but wish I had. This is a very good introduction to calculus, easy to read yet still rigorous. It starts with the basics of differentiation covering the standard collection of theorems and ends covering vector analysis (div grad and curl) as well as various forms of multivariate optimization such as the method of Lagrangian multipliers. Some of the drawings are bit on the crude side but they are very clear and easily understood. If you can get this book at a good price, do so.
