A slightly hackneyed but throughly enjoyable guilty pleasure of a bodice-ripper. The language lays it on a bit thick and the plot is more or less predictable (although there is one good surprise near the end), but it's not a book that will waste your time if you're a fan of historical romance novels. Better than most formula Harlequins I've read. Recommended if you like Kathleen Woodiwiss, Rosemary Rogers, and the like.
