It is published by the YMCA and emphasizes management techniques to bring along counselors, such as how to effectively deal with homesick campers, building one's own cabin, etc. "The work of building the cabin combined several distinct branches of work. The walls themselves involved tree cutting and felling, notching the logs, the use of the level for trimming up foundations, the use of the crosscut saw and axe. The construction of the fireplace was carefully explained, viz., the use of the smoke chamber and formation of the flue, the laying of the stones, mixing of cement and concrete."
