The Enterprise crew has to work with a violent Starfleet captain and his crew to deal with a hostile fleet that is attacking planets with Federation interests. Not a bad book. The bit characters are interesting, but the M'Dok fleet is pretty forgettable.

A sequel to the original "Star Trek" episode "Bread and Circuses" where the Romans have now joined the Federation. The crew of the starship Centurion work with Picard and crew to defend the planet Tenara, but there is something suspicious about the Centurion's captain.

A series of vicious attacks by the enigmatic M'Dok Empire has devastated the planet Tenara -- bringing the Enterprise and another Federation starship, the Centurion, to the planet's aid.
