This was another good Perry Mason tale, even though sometimes I wonder about the court system in California. In some of Gardner's books, it puzzles me how quickly a case comes to court. It's almost like a judge is sitting in his chambers, twiddling this thumbs and keeps asking his clerk if anyone is asking for a trial to take place

Still, this was a good story, with another surprise ending that even Perry Mason didn't see coming.
