Born in Europe, son of a famous singer, the author was in the United States when the Japanese attacked Pearl Harbor. He offered his services to the U.S. Army and was first assigned to the OSS, then later served as a counterintelligence officer.

The book consists of numerous cases he and his teammates solved near the end of the war and during the occupation. Each case is fascinating. If you like mysteries you will enjoy this book.
