BORING! All the characters were caricatures. I could only make it throught half of the book. If there's an interesting twist at the end, only a true fan would get to see it.

The setting is France in1918. In Le Grand Hotel there is a murder at a party and then a ghost appears who resembles the murder victim. Afraid of losing business the management of the hotel calls in Professor John Darnel and his wife Penny who has gained a reputation for debunking ghosts and alleged supernatural occurrences. Several well known personalities, including Ernest Hemingway play key roles in the story.

I enjoy mysteries set in "historical times" and so I really enjoy this series. Ernest Hemingway makes a cameo appearance in this one.
