This fantasy role-playing gamebook is first in a wonderful series. You are Pip, a young apprentice of the wizard Merlin in the time of Camelot. Before role-playing video games became mainstream, these type of books were all we had. The Grailquest series is unique in that it combines humor with adventure. I remember reading and loving these as a kid- and I still love them as an adult.
In my opinion, this first book is slightly weaker than the rest. But that is like saying one diamond is slightly duller than another. These books are real treasures. I highly recommend all of them.
