She wants her ex-husband back. He's determined to impress another woman. So the housewife and the race car driver oversee makeovers of one another. The transformations work great in their romantic lives except that they are falling in love with each other. With a heroine who goes from powerless to poised, a delicious bad-boy hero and the clever use of journal entries, CATHRYN by Shannon Waverly abounds with touching moments and richly drawn characters.

Cathryn McGrath is the paragon of female adulthood. She is a wonderful wife and mother. Part of her core essence ends when her spouse Dylan, informs her the world's changing and he walks out on her and their children, for another woman.

Enter, super-sexy bad-boy, Tucker Lang...

Before he left the island of Harmony when he was 21, all the girls wanted to ride with Tucker Lang -- while all their mothers wanted to lock up their daughters. Tucker was the town's poster bad boy.

After being away for years, Tucker now returns to Harmony. He sees CATHRYN and realizes he still is attracted to her. She reciprocates although she wonders about men in general. As CATHRYN and Tucker fall in love, the reformed bad boy knows he must deal with a personal problem before he can commit to CATHRYN.

CATHRYN is a tender contemporary romance starring two lead characters, who, for varying reasons, distrust love. The story line is fun as Cathryn and Tucker struggle to forge a relationship that both question even knowing they have found their soul mate. Shannon Waverly completes her warm trilogy of three friends finding love (see JULIA and LAUREN) with this beguiling tale.

Note: JULIA (Circle of Friends, Book 1), LAUREN (Circle of Friends, Book 2) and CATHRYN (Circle of Friends, Book 3)

Cathryn McGrath has a reputation to uphold in Harmony, Massachusetts--as the perfect wife, homemaker, mother and friend. Until her husband has an affair with another woman, and walks out on Cathryn and their kids.

Tucker Lang has a reputation to overcome in Harmony--as the town's bad boy, tough guy and all-around rebel. He's been away for years, but reputations like that tend to stick, especially in places like Harmony. He's back now... just in time to catch the pieces of Cathryn McGrath's shattered life.

He becomes involved, deeply involved, with her and her kids. And he shows her that there's life after betrayal, love after divorce.

I enjoyed reading about characters who weren't perfect.
