I can't get enough of this series. In this book Marco and Cato and several hundred men are sent out into the desert toward Parthia by their general, who hopes they will be killed. Not only do they screw up his plan, but Cato actually engineers a Roman victory and finds true love too.
Not to be outdone, Marco also proves he has a soft spot for a young girl. It's not all romance, as there is plenty of military and diplomatic action too! The latter seemingly more treacherous than the first. Still, I'm wondering how Cato's life will change. Guess I'll find out in the next book.
