A woman is driving through a Nevada town to get to California for the christmas holidays, she has a flat and must wait for it to be repaired. While window shopping she and a small boy are abducted. The kidnappers abandon them in the snow high in the mountains, by chance a sheep herder finds them and the resulting time of the holiday as they continue to hide from their kidnappers who are also looking for refuge from the storm. It's a story about love and growth and survival.

This is a typical LDS romance novel. But you know what? I liked it. In fact, I'll confess--I really like LDS romances. It was raining a bit today, and I read the whole thing during my baby's nap. Very relaxing and it made me feel optimistic. What more could I ask?
