Title:

Cherry Cheese Danish

Dish: Cookies & Bars
Dish Type: Cherry
Cooking Method: Baked
Difficulty: 1 / 10
Servings: 8+
Prep Time: 5 min.
Cook Time: 10-12 min.

Ingredients
  • 2-8 oz. - tubes refrigerated crescent rolls
  • 1-8 oz. - cream cheese, softened
  • 1 can - cherry pie filling
  • 1 cup - vanilla frosting (the store bought kind)
Directions

Separate crescent dough into eight rectangles.  Place on ungreased baking sheet; seal perforations.  Spread cream cheese onto each rectangle, using entire 8 ounce package.  Spread cherry pie filling on top of cream cheese, using entire can of pie filling.  Bake at 375 degrees for 10-12 minutes or until edges are golden brown.  Cool for 5 minutes.  Place frosting in small microwave safe bowl; heat on high for 15-20 seconds.  Drizzle over warm pastries.  Serve warm.  Refrigerate leftovers.   For bars, place rectangles close together and seal together; then continue as written above.  Cut into bars.  Any flavor pie filling works well.

Notes

I sometimes use 2 cans of pie filling since it seems like there is always alot of filling and not alot of cherries.

I crossed your recipe with one I had for a similar recipe for a plain cheese danish, adding 3/4 c sugar, 1 t. lemonjuice and 1 t. vanilla to the cream cheese first. YUM!
