Introductory Planting the Church The great achievement of the first century of the Protestant Mission in China has been the planting of the Chinese Church. A vast amount of contributory work has been done, -- evangelistic, pastoral, educational, medical, literary, social, and a large experience has been gained which should enable us to direct all these with growing precision and force to the attainment of their ends. A great multitude of men, women, and children have been led into light, and we need not doubt that tens of thousands have been born again. Of these a multitude that no man can number have finished their course in the faith of Christ and been presented before the face of God with exceeding joy. China has contributed her cohorts to the general assembly and church of the firstborn, who serve Him day and night in His temple.
