This book proves the best definition of adventure is someone far from home in deep shit.

Severin tells an entertaining yarn here from the concept of the expedition, to building the raft to launching the expedition and its conclusion. By its description, it was a slow, wet, cold way to travel. It is a good travel narrative, but I think Severin's arguments for contact between Asia and the Americas doesn't hold up in the face of evidence like that of 1491.

A good piece of work. Now to see if I can finish Good to Great and then keep on poking through the large collection of materials I've got on my shelves.

Non-fiction account of the building and voyage of a bamboo raft, using materials and techniques available milennia ago, testing the feasibility of theoretical Pacific crossings at the time of Christ.
