Nice regency romance, with sensible heroine and mature hero. A touch of Sense and Sensibility, in that the younger female character is too young, and needs guidance. Sara Farthingham is sharing a season in London with her younger cousin Kitty, and meets the Earl of Danvers again after three years. Only, he doesn't remember that he danced with her during her first season. Sara is determined not to let him know that she loves him, as he is adamant about not getting married. But, Edward doesn't count on her disinterest, and begins to wonder if she cares more for her cousin Charles than she should.
