Carrie Weaver a young Amish-woman is in love with Solomon Riehl, a Amish man who decides to go with the fancy life and they plan to run away together only Solomon will not take her younger brother so Carrie marries a man who will marry her and take her brother. Daniel proves to be an excellent husband and takes care of Carrie's little brother, but as they call in love Daniel is killed. His brother Abel comes to help her with the apple farm she believes that she has inherited only to find that it is Abel's. Abel signs the farm over to Carrie out of love for her, but it takes her awhile to see that he really loves her.

I could not put this book down until I finished it. It is a great story that turns and twists until the last page.
